Dr. Albert Payne is a native of Danville and a graduate of George Washington High School. He graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1972 with a B.S. in Biology. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from VCU School of Dentistry in 1976 and began private practice in Danville. He married his wife, Sandra, in 1973. They have 3 grown children (1 son and 2 daughters), 3 grandsons, and 2 granddaughters.
Dr. Payne is a member of the Danville Regional (Past President), Piedmont (Past President and Fellow), Virginia, and American Dental Associations. He is also a Fellow in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He has received the Danville Register and Bee's Readers' Choice Award in the "Best Dentist" category each year since 1998. Dr. Payne was also selected as the "Favorite Dentist" RAVE Award winner for Showcase Magazine in 2011 & 2012.
He presently serves on the Boards of Delta Dental Plan of VA, Boys and Girls Club of Danville, and VA Bank & Trust Company. His community involvement includes the Tunstall HS Academic Boosters Club (President); St. John’s United Methodist Church Fishermen’s Club (President); past coach for Pittsylvania County Youth League girls’ basketball and softball; and served on the Pittsylvania County School Board from 1988 – 2000.
Dr. Payne is a life-long member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the TUMC Methodist Men, the VCU School of Dentistry Alumni Association, and the College of W & M Alumni Association. His hobbies and interests include playing golf and softball, gardening, traveling, reading, movies and concerts, and being a Grandpa.
Jeffrey A. Clifton, D.D.S.
Dr. Jeff Clifton is a native of Danville and a graduate of George Washington High School. He graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 1983 with a B.S. in Biology. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from VCU School of Dentistry in 1987 and began private practice in Danville. He married his wife, Patti, in 1987 and they have two sons, Patrick and Christian.
Dr. Clifton is a member of the Danville Regional (Past President), Piedmont, Virginia and American Dental Associations. He has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education in the placement and restoration of implants.
Dr. Clifton's hobbies and interests include baseball, golf, NASCAR, cooking and contemporary jazz music. He and his family are members of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church.
Christopher A. Payne, D.D.S.
Dr. Chris Payne is a native of Danville and a graduate of Tunstall High School. He graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1998 with a B.S. in Biology. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from VCU School of Dentistry in 2003 and began private practice in Danville. He married his wife Han in 2003 and they have 2 sons and 1 daughter.
Dr. Payne is a member of the Danville Regional, Piedmont, Virginia and American Dental Associations. He earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2007 having completed 500 hours of continuing education since graduation. His course studies include seminars in root canal therapy, Lumineer veneers, in-office bleaching, esthetic partials, implant supported dentures, Invisalign, and a “multi-month” continuum course in orthodontics. Dr. Payne is a general dentist with a majority emphasis on treating patients involving orthodontics. His greatest satisfaction comes from interdisciplinary cases using tooth movement to enhance restorative treatment.
Dr. Payne treats the entire family’s dental needs, and believes children should first visit a dentist at around two years of age. He has worked closely with Head Start and has participated in the Southwest VA Mission Of Mercy (MOM) project to provide dental care to adults and children who may not have access otherwise. Dr. Payne helped organize GiveThanksforSmiles.com to facilitate donating dental services to help local charities. He particularly enjoys being able to help people with dental pain get relief. He is a life-long member of Trinity United Methodist Church and an past President of the Piedmont Dental Society and of Kiwanis Club of Danville.
James R. Evans, D.D.S.
Dr. Jim Evans is a native of Logan, WV, and a graduate of Logan Senior High School. He graduated from Fairmont State College in 1972 with a B.S. in Biology. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from WVU School of Dentistry in 1978 and moved to Danville to begin private practice. He married Stephanie in 1967. They have 3 grown children (1 son and 2 daughters), 3 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.Dr. Evans also has a Black Lab named Mikey.
Dr. Evans served in the United States Air Force 1965-1969. He was stationed in TX, FL, SC, & Philippines and played basketball for his Base team.
Dr. Evans is a member of the Danville Regional (Past President), Piedmont (Past President), Virginia, and the American Dental Association. He is a Fellow of the VA Dental Association and the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an International Honorary Dental Organization recognizing outstanding dentists and celebrating their achievements. Dr. Evans was selected as one of Danville's "Best Dentists" in the Readers' Choice Awards for 2011.
Dr. Evans’ community involvement includes: past President of Danville YMCA; past member of Free Clinic of Danville board; past Commissioner and Coach of Little League Baseball; past leader of Boy Scout Troop 376; and past coach for YBA basketball, soccer, fall baseball and Danville All-Stars. He also served as President of Woodberry Elementary School PTA, Westmoreland Middle School PTA, and George Washington High School Basketball Booster Club.
He is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Danville Golf Club, German Club, Young Men’s Club, AARP, WVU Alumni Association, and WVU School of Dentistry Alumni. His hobbies and interests include supporting WVU Athletics, playing golf, being “Pops” for his grandchildren, gourmet cooking, crashing at the beach, listening and Shagging to Beach Music, reading, and Military History.
After 30 years of private dental practice, Dr. Evans is happy to merge with Danville Dental Associates in January 2008.
Tamara S. Webster, D.D.S
Dr. Tamara Webster is a native of Stuart VA and a graduate of Patrick County High School. She graduated from Voorhees College in 2004 with a B.S. in Biology. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in 2008 and completed a General Practice Residency Program (GPR) in Columbia, South Carolina following her graduation.
During her residency she received inter-disciplinary training consisting of dental treatment under IV sedation, treating patients’ post- traumatic dental injuries, and all aspects of general dentistry.
Dr. Webster is a member of the Danville Regional Dental Society (Treasurer), American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentists and also a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Dental Honor Society. Dr. Webster has been a Paul Harris Fellow.
Dr. Webster volunteers as a Big Sister for the Big Brother/Big Sister organization, is a member of the Riverview Rotary club, and was elected as "Best Female Dentist" by HER Magazine in 2011.
Dr. Webster’s hobbies include enjoying the company of family and friends, reading, participating in and watching most sports, singing and laughing. She is a member of Hylton Thessalonia Primitive Baptist Church.
Margarette Le, D.M.D.
Magarette Le, DDS, comes to Danville Dental Associates from Northern Virginia in an area twenty minutes outside Washington, DC. She graduated from Hayfield Secondary School in 2003. She received a B.S. in Biology from Virginia Tech in 2007. She earned her Doctor of
Dental Surgery degree from VCU School of Dentistry in 2011. Dr. Le states she is happy to relocate to Danville, VA, and enjoys her stress-free commute to work each day.
Dr. Le is grateful to be in a profession where she has the opportunity to have a positive impact on patients’ well being. She is passionate about taking care of her patients and strives to make them feel like family. She has participated in multiple Mission of Mercy (MOM) projects as well as Give Thanks for Smiles providing dental services to adults and children who may not otherwise have access to dental care.
Dr. Le is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Outside of the dental office, Dr. Le enjoys being in the company of family and friends, reading, playing tennis, cooking and volunteering for community service projects.
Patricia Dunbar, D.D.S.
Dr. Patricia Dunbar is one of the newest members of the Danville Dental Associates team. She was born in Jamaica, where her parents and older brother still reside. After completing high school in Jamaica, she moved to Lewiston, Maine to attend Bates College where she obtained a B.S in Biology in 2001. Due to her dislike for the severe winters, she decided to head south for dental school. Dr Dunbar moved to Richmond Virginia where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at VCU School of Dentistry in 2009. She then pursued a General Practice Residency in New York City, and was trained in implant restoration, cosmetic dentistry, management of dental trauma and emergencies along with many other aspects of general dentistry. Upon completion of her residency, her love for the South brought her back to Virginia for work. She currently resides in Durham, NC with her husband Adam, a Pediatrician at Duke University Medical Center.
She loves dentistry because it gives her the opportunity to interact with so many different people on a daily basis. Dr Dunbar feels very blessed to have a career that allows her to improve her patients health, confidence and self esteem while providing comprehensive dental care and restoring a smile. She aims to create a welcoming and comforting environment by treating each of her patients as family. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association and Delta Sigma Delta International Dental Fraternity.
In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with her family and friends, cooking and exploring new recipes. She also looks forward to catching a good movie in the comfort of her own home every now and then. Dr Dunbar attends the Immanuel Temple Seventh Day Adventist Church in Durham NC.
